As one can obviously tell, my fellow bastard has done some griping about Valentine's Day. Which is also known as International Friendship Day for all the lonely assed people out there without a dime chance of bagging a date, not least a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Therefore, yours truly has decided to come up with a mini study of having or not having that love of your life. The pros and the cons. The bliss and hardship. The...whatever. I shall strive to be bipartisan, fair and not myopic nor biased despite my hardcore bastard and single status.
THE POSITIVES OF HAVING A BF/GF:
(1.) Having that exclusive shoulder or whichever body part one prefers to cry on.
(2.) Having that exclusive someone to celebrate Valentine's Day(urgh) with.
(3.) Having that exclusive someone to shower your love/wealth with.
(4.) Able to walk down Orchard Road and snub those lonely assed souls by wrapping your arms around the waist of that exclusive one/making out on public transport/shielding your loved one by standing and not budging on the crowded bus while he or she seats on the aisle seat
(5.) Photowhore with your loved one then put it up on your blog or friendster with loud declarations of "I Love You" or "Sweet Baby" kind of tags. Three exclamation marks following such declarations are optional.
(6.) Actually having a reason to watch sappy/comedic romance movies.
(7.) Doing dumb things like queing for 4hrs and more for Donut Factory edibles to indulge the loved one.
(8.) Have someone to plan your birthdays.
THE NEGATIVES OF HAVING A BF/GF:
(1.) To a certaint extent, the chances of being left poor will dramatically increase.
(2.) And when becoming poor, chances of being single will too dramatically increase.
BUT THEN, WHEN IN LOVE WHERE GOT NEGATIVE ONE?! LOVE CONQUERS ALL HOR. LOVE BLINDS AND SUFFOCATES BUT STILL ONE WILL FEEL DAMN...SONG!
So this will bring us to the end of part 1 of 1+1 =, where we unravel the good, the bad and the missing ugly of having a partner. Next, in a couple of hours or days hopefully, part 2 of 1+1 = will be out in time before Valentine's Day(urgh) where we explore the good, the bad and the ugly of NOT having a partner.
Till then, take care and stay home, cause Valentine's Day is coming...
